The 680G3UVPX is an advanced 3U VPX networking module featuring fully managed, separated Data and Control Plane Ethernet switches aligned with SOSA™ slot profiles. The module delivers high-bandwidth switching with integrated Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) capabilities and precise synchronization via 1PPS and external clock interfaces available on both the front panel and VPX backplane.

Description
The 680G3UVPX TSN is a military-grade, high-performance 3U VPX Ethernet switch module featuring a dual-plane architecture with a 6×100G-KR4 Data Plane and up to 8×10G-KR Control Plane ports. The module provides full Layer 2/Layer 3 managed switching and is fully aligned with SOSA™ technical standards. The module combines high-density VPX backplane connectivity with versatile front panel interfaces, including a 40G fiber (MPO) Data Plane port, 1G Ethernet interfaces for management and control, USB Type-C access for CLI, and dedicated 1PPS and 10 MHz clock interfaces via SMA connectors. Sync E is supported on both the front panel 1G interface and the 1G copper backplane interface )in 6F8U slot profile), enabling flexible and accurate frequency distribution across the system. A key differentiator of the 680G3UVPX TSN is its advanced timing and synchronization infrastructure. The module enables deterministic networking through full Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) support, including IEEE 802.1AS (gPTP), scheduled traffic, and frame preemption. High-accuracy synchronization is achieved using 1PPS and 10 MHz timing signals available on both the VPX backplane and front panel, combined with Sync E and hardware-based IEEE 1588 PTP timestamping. Designed for mission-critical applications, the module integrates FPGA-based capabilities such as secured boot, NED (Nuclear Event Detection), zeroization, and comprehensive Built-In Test (PBIT, CBIT, IBIT). System management is supported via IPMI Tier III, in compliance with VITA 46.11. The 680G3UVPX TSN is optimized for deployment in rugged, mission-critical VPX systems, supporting conduction-cooled architectures and compliance with MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-810 environmental requirements.
